Abstract:

I will briefly reprise my talk from last Fall and then provide some of the very latest results from the California & Carnegie Planet Search and recent advances in planetary system formation theory since then. These recent discoveries include a compelling explanation for the origin of eccentricities in exoplanets, the first confirmed ice giant outside the solar system, and the best-yet Jupiter analog. In addition, I will discuss the ensemble of known nearby multiple-planet systems, which now number 25, and how these systems differ from systems known to host only a single exoplanet.
