Abstract:
The National Science Foundation's Process to establish a Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory (DUSEL) and the current status of the process will presented. The plans for the Homestake Underground Lab will be presented including the State of South Dakota funded Early Implementation Plan for Homestake providing underground access by 2007. A call for letters of interest was recently issued and proposals and LOIs are being solicited for both near-term experiments and longer-term uses.
