Lab Shuttle:
LBNL
Shuttle route and schedule
*The shuttle
bus drivers require Laboratory ID from boarding passengers. If you
do not have an LBNL picture ID, please contact Anytra Henderson or Tami Blackwell
to get a bus pass or letter to give to the driver.
Note that there are two bus routes, the blue route brings riders from downtown Berkeley to Bldg. 50 and the orange route brings riders from Bldg. 50 to downtown Berkeley. See link above for bus stops and times.
Make sure
to wave when you see the bus coming, or it may not stop.
Once you have
taken the shuttle to its destination (Bldg. 65 bus stop), building
50 is right across the road from the stop. Just walk up the long
flight of stairs and into the building and take the elevator at
the end of the hall to the 5th floor. Turn right as you exit the
elevator and walk to the end of the hall. Turn right again and walk
to the end of that hall. The last room on the right is 50-5026,
the INPA conference room.

Guidelines
for Talks:
Talks start
at noon and last for 50 minutes; there are then 10 minutes for questions.
The audience is usually about 30 astrophysicists, though a few students,
(non-astro)physicists, and nonphysicists attend. You can assume
that audience members have a basic knowledge of physics and astronomy
(about half have training in particle or nuclear physics and about
half have training in astrophysics or astronomy), but you should
include a basic introduction to your subject and especially jargon
specific to your field. Our members have wide-ranging interests.
In addition to talks from just about every branch of physics and
astronomy, we have had lectures on such diverse subjects as climate
research, the brain, the sociology of science, and even the physics
of movie animation.
